10/28/2006 - Fire Kills one in Santee

Santee, CA A 94 year old woman was killed today in her mobile home today when it went up in flames. Fire fighters worked on the stubborn blaze with assistance from El Cajon, Lakeside, and La Mesa when the fire was elevated to a second alarm. The cause of the fire was under investigation by Santee fire and Sheriff Bomb Arson.


10/26/2006 - Esperanza Fire

Cabazon, CA Fire fighters work to hold the fire to a paved road in extreame weather conditions that was blowing embers making it difficult contain.  Nearly 1000 Fire fighters worked to contain the "Esperanza" , the fire has burned nearly fifteen miles with approximately 45-50 miles of open fire line. The fire, currently at 24,000 acres has cost the lives of four fire fighters and critically injuring a fifth, The Riverside County Sheriff is actively investigating the fire as an arson / murder case due to the deaths and there is a $100,000 Reward for tips leading to the arrest of the suspect. 


10/20/2006 - Palm Row 2nd Alarm Blaze

Lakeside,CA Fire fighters worked a 2nd alarm fire that broke of shortly before 3 AM this morning. About 30 fire personal battled the fire that caused several hundred thousand to the home located on the 10700 block of Palm Row drive. Several people were transported to local hospitals for minor injuries, including one fire fighter. The cause of the early morning fire is under investigation by the Lakeside Fire Department and SDSO bomb arson teams.


10/15/2006 - SDFD Engine struck on a call

San Diego, CA A fire engine on scene of an accident on 163, was rear-ended by another vehicle around 2 AM early Sunday morning. The fire engine was stopped behind a crashed vehicle. While attending to the victims a small red Nissan collided with the parked unit causing injuries to all occupants. Additional apparatus and rescue crews including the CHP responded to the scene causing the northbound lanes of the freeway to be completely shut down while the roadway was cleared. None of the fire fighters were injured during the incident.


10/14/2006 - Spilled concrete clogs freeway

El Cajon, CA Slick roads during the early morning hours may have contributed to an collision that caused a loaded cement truck to over turn. According to CHP on scene a pick up truck initially lost control in front of the cement truck causing a chain reaction of events. Several lanes of interstate 8 and the ramp to highway 67 were closed while crews cleaned spilled concrete and up righted the cement truck.
