Pursuit ends with suspect in custody |

A CHP Pursuit came to an end at the intersection of Dehesa Rd and Japatual Rd in east county San Diego at about 5am this morning after CHP and SDSO used legal intervention to stop the pursuit. According to CHP they received reports from citizens in the rancho San Diego area of a reckless driver, after searching the area the CHP unit involved was returning to the area office they spotted the reported vehicle. After following the car and observing the car for a while the CHP unit attempted to make a traffic stop when the suspect failed to yield. During the pursuit the suspect slammed on his brakes and making U turns and attempting to collide with and cause the CHP unit to crash. With the assistance of the San Diego Sheriff's office deputy the pursuit came to an end at the intersection of Dehesa rd. and Japatual Rd. where the suspect was apprehended and taken into custody. The suspect will be charged with several crimes and possibility of DUI while only minor cuts and abrasions were reported to have occurred.
